November 13, 2021 :Max Verstappen had been called by the International Sports Committee after a video of him showing that he was “inspecting” the cars in the Parc Ferme resurfaced; after further investigation it was found that the racer had merely touched the rear-wing of his fellow competitor’s race car. The hearing took place at Interlagos and was reportedly less than 30 mins long. After the hearing, it was issued that Verstappen was due to be fined €50,000 for violating Article 2.5.1 of the International Sports Code. Article 2.5.1 states that, “Inside the Parc Fermé, only the officials assigned may enter. No operation, checking, tuning or repair is allowed unless authorised by the same officials or by the applicable regulations” . Some hearing inspectors opined that Verstappen “touched the car with minimal force with no indication of harm” and further acknowledged that touching and briefly inspecting their fellow competitors’ cars has become harmlessly habitual for competitors. Even though these opinions were fledged out in the hearing, it was adjudicated that Max Verstappen would be fined as there was a clear violation of the rules laid down by the International Sports Committee.

The committee further cautioned other players and teams saying that these petty mistakes will be considered as violations and will be fined accordingly.
