8th December 2021 : Qatar airways was the third international airlines to whom the government of Delhi issued the show-cause notice for breaching the guidelines fixed by the union health minister regarding the awakening of spread of omicron variant. According, to Delhi government Qatar airways arrived to Delhi from Hamad international airport which is situated at Doha and they failed to recognise the 2% of people from the total people on board who were supposed to go through RT-PCR test upon their arrival at Indira Gandhi International airport. The notice said "Non-compliance shall be viewed seriously, and it would be presumed that the Station Manager has nothing to say in the matter and action as deemed fit shall be initiated as per relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005; Section 188 of IPC and other applicable laws," . In earlier days, the State government issued show-cause to Etihad airlines and American airline as well for contravening the covid-19 norms.
