The Aequitas Victoria Research Centre, Jehanabad Bihar in association with Vidya Vikas Institute of Legal Studies, Mysuru as part of the celebration of World Environment Day, June 05 is organising National Seminar on “Understanding the Complexities between Environment Protection and Human Development: A Multidisciplinary Approach”.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
Humanity was traditionally known for its harmony with nature but gradually the world has witnessed several innovations in the way of industrial and technological revolutions. All these revolutions made life easy for human beings but it has widened the gap between human and nature. As a result, the devastating consequences of anthropogenic activities have become visualized across the planet earth. At present, situations like global warming, pandemic, ongoing wars, transboundary movement of hazardous wastes leading to massive pollution, scarcity of resources causing conflicts over management and ownership of resources, etc. have emerged. All these situations have made humanity to re-think solutions for addressing the conflicts between environmental protection and human growth, for which the concept of Sustainable Development was initiated and enforced both at global and domestic levels. The present decade is the last decade for achieving the goals of sustainable development and we have also witnessed the need of achieving such goals after witnessing the consequences of a single pandemic. Therefore, this Seminar aims at discussing and formulating certain principles for analyzing the current position as regards environmental protection without compromising with human growth and development.
