IAMR Law College, Ghaziabad in collaboration with Aequitas Victoria Research Centre, Bihar, is organizing National Conference (Online) on the topic “Paradigm shifts in Criminal Justice System: Examining and Exploring the Impact of India's New Criminal Law Reforms” on 05th April, 2025.


ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

New Criminal Law Amendments in India which includes- The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, signify a crucial overhaul of the nearly 150 years old criminal justice system, aiming to address persistent challenges and align with contemporary societal needs. These amendments, borne out of legislative reforms, harbor multifaceted objectives geared towards fortifying the justice system's efficacy, equity, and responsiveness to evolving crime dynamics. Primarily, the amendments accentuate a robust stance against crimes targeting vulnerable groups, notably women and children. Strengthening penalties for offenses like rape, sexual assault, and child abuse underscores a resolute commitment to safeguarding their rights and dignity. Concurrently, measures to expedite investigation and trial processes with involvement of technology in such cases signal a concerted effort to ensure swift justice delivery and deterrence. Additionally, the amednments with the involvement of techonolgy wants to make Indian justice system at par with the International standards. However, the New Criminal Justice Reforms are going to face obstacles and implementation challenges. Therefore, at this juncture, an analysis of the New Criminal Law Reforms in India becomes necessary to understand the current condition of the Criminal Justice System and how this major shift is going the impact the society and its structure.

Thus, this National Conference aims at achieving this great objective through a multidisciplinary approach.

As rightly said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”, therefore it is one of the prime objectives of the organization to serve the best interest of justice to the fullest extent possible through various initiatives. The AVRC aims to fulfill the requirement of establishing a comprehensive, structured, and organized mechanism to carry out research works in different fields to make the Aequitas Victoria Foundation capable of achieving its goals. Then, all the Paper Presenters are required to register through the Registration Form and Paper Presenters shall separately submit their papers through the full paper submission button.

The Judges, Advocates, Academicians irrespective of any discipline, Research Scholars, Students, or any other professionals who have done any research or any activities in the field of Criminal Law & Comparative Law can participate in this Conference.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 

The participants shall strictly adhere to the following guidelines: 

  • Co-authorship for each paper is allowed for up to two authors; 

  • No single author can submit more than one abstract; 

  • The abstract shall be separately typed in, or pasted into the Abstract Submission Google Form: 

  • After acceptance of the abstract, the authors are required to register by paying the registration fees. 

Note:  Receipt of payment of Registration fees has to be uploaded on the Registration Form. A provision for Early Bird Registration has been provided. 

  • After the process of registration is completed, final papers are to be submitted. 

  • All submissions shall be made within the scheduled date 


FORMATTING GUIDELINES FOR PAPERS 

The research papers shall adhere to the following formatting guidelines: 

  • The length of the paper shall not be less than 3,000 words and more than 5,000 words; 

  • The paper shall have an abstract of a maximum of 250 words with four to six keywords; 

  • The Heading of the paper shall be typed in Capital, Bold, Font Size 16, Times New Roman, Central  Aligned; 

  • The main body shall be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, Justified Aligned;

  • Sub-headings shall be in Bold but shall not be in the capital with Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, Justified  Aligned; 

  • Sub-Sub Headings shall be in italics with Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, Justified Aligned, 

  • Sub-sub-sub-Headings shall be numbered with roman numerical; 

  • Images shall be Central Aligned and with clarity and authorities shall be duly cited wherein case if images  are self-created then such images shall be mentioned in the Footnote Section; 

  • All charts and tables shall be center-aligned and the authorities shall be duly cited; 

  • OSCOLA 4th Edition shall be used for citation and footnotes shall be in Times New Roman, Font Size  10, Justified aligned, and Single Line Spacing.
